BuyVM has been handing out full-root KVM servers since 2010 — back when "cheap VPS" usually meant "oversold container that falls over by lunch." We're one of the founding fathers of the affordable VPS market, and today we're a division of Cloudzy, still run by the same kind of people: engineers who'd rather fix the network than schedule a meeting about it.
We started in 2010 with a simple, slightly stubborn idea: a real virtual server — your own kernel, full root, no asterisks — shouldn't cost a fortune or require a sales call. While most of the market was either expensive or oversold, we kept building honest infrastructure at honest prices, and people noticed.
BuyVM has always been run by developers and technology enthusiasts rather than business-first management. That's not a slogan — it's why we shipped affordable DDoS protection when "DDoS protection" still meant a five-figure invoice, why we're the only affordable VPS host offering Anycast IPs, and why we turned on IPv6 long before most of the industry could spell it. Somewhere in there we also built Stallion, our own control panel, which keeps getting voted the best one out there.
We're a division of Cloudzy now, with more network and reach behind us — but the ethos hasn't changed. Same nerds. Same flat prices. Same touch of insanity that made us put a 10 TB storage slab next to a $2 slice and call it a day.
There's a difference, and we live in it. We cut cost through efficiency — denser hardware, smarter networking, less overhead — never by cutting the corners you'd actually feel. You get less on the invoice and more in the slice.
